Decades ago I was pretty successful doing stand-up comedy and TV commercials, but I too grew tired of the insecurity. So got my teaching credential and for 25 years taught JHS Drama. Now in retirement I'm rekindling my acting career, but realizing I am a much better director than an actor!

Hi Michael,


Your videos are always so heartfelt and meaningful—they truly speak to so many of us. As an actor, it's always a challenge: when there’s work, you audition but rarely book, and so you don’t really work. Now, with auditions being so scarce, the result is the same—no work, and the lack of an income stream is a constant struggle.

The frustrations build, and the question looms: stick with it, focus on the second job, or quit altogether? I chose to keep my second job for stability but used my spare time to fuel my passion. I just completed my first feature film and am now working on rewrites!
